How to remove your Facebook account

The link cannot be found that easily, but it is there. See the direct removal link below. Be aware not to login for 2 weeks or use facebook in any other way, or your account will be activated again, instead of removed.

If removal is too much for you, try deactivation first. The link is: https://www.facebook.com/deactivate.php

As of August 2012, photos are now completely removed, due to many complaints that they kept being accessible.

Helpful Trick: Removing online data

Publicly visible text/images often aren’t properly removed even when you succeed in removing an account. Try editing or removing them manually before removing the account itself. If you’re unsure what happens to your tracks: this can be found mostly in the Terms of Service/Privacy Policy; otherwise you can always contact Facebook and ask personally. By the way, removal requests don’t necessarily mean your data will actually be removed (e.g. due to legal obligations).

Boy Facebook buries that removal page, makes it hard to delete the account. I created a fake dummy account to spy on my girlfriend and wanted to delete it now.
