How to stop telemarketing calls

The FTC's Do Not Call Registry stops most legitimate telemarketing calls — fitting, since stopping telemarketers was Remove.org's original mission back in 2003.

1. Register your number free at DoNotCall.gov or call 1-888-382-1222 from the phone you want to register.
2. Registration never expires. Telemarketers have 31 days to stop calling.
3. Report violators at DoNotCall.gov — scam robocalls ignore the list, so also enable your carrier's spam-blocking (AT&T ActiveArmor, T-Mobile ScamShield, Verizon Call Filter).
