How to remove your OpenID account

General remark: the tricky part of logins used on multiple sites is that they mostly all have their own ToS/PP, so removing an open account may not mean removing everything submitted to the sites you used that account for. In those cases it may be really worthwhile to actually read the ToS/PP, for a change.

From their terms: we make good faith efforts to provide you with access to your personal information and either to correct this data if it is inaccurate or to delete such data at your request. So, contact them and request removal: https://openid.net/foundation/contact/ or help@oidf.org.

Helpful Trick: Removing online data

Publicly visible text/images often aren’t properly removed even when you succeed in removing an account. Try editing or removing them manually before removing the account itself. If you’re unsure what happens to your tracks: this can be found mostly in the Terms of Service/Privacy Policy; otherwise you can always contact OpenID and ask personally. By the way, removal requests don’t necessarily mean your data will actually be removed (e.g. due to legal obligations).

Helpful Trick: Remove third-party logins

If you signed up for OpenID using a third-party login such as Facebook or Twitter, you probably want to revoke all access from OpenID. Click here to find out how.
